September 12th, 2011 admin

September 9, 10, and 11, 2011 will mark the 17th Annual Rochester Irish Festival held at Camp Eastman, Irondequoit, N.Y. This celebration began in 1994 staffed solely by volunteers anxious to provide wholesome entertainment in celebration of the Irish heritage of the people of Rochester and the surrounding area. The rule is still that attendees will be courteous and not interfere with the enjoyment of others but be ladies and gentlemen.

This festival is dear to the hearts of those around the area. A long and growing list of sponsors proves that. Businesses, radio stations and lodges all come aboard to support the event. This family friendly celebration is filled with color and music. Professional genealogists have helped many trace their family crests and clans. This is the place to learn about Irish traditions, apparel, dance and symbols.

Celebrating Irish heritage and culture the Rochester Irish Festival is a venue for many vendors to sell their Irish wares, while singers and dancers perform the musical history of Ireland while celebrating all the wonderful contributions the Irish have made to the area. In addition to imported wares there is a booth that sells souvenirs unique to the Rochester Irish Festival. Make an Irish memory.
